I would argue that you are resilient - you have come this far, which is the very essence of resilience. I also struggle with burnout, pressure and being highly sensitive so it’s comforting to hear your stories. They are so much like my own.
Thank you so much, Victoria, I'm glad you feel that way! Your kind words mean a lot to me!
And as for resilience, I've never seen it like this before. It's a very encouraging thought. Thank you! Also for sharing your struggle. It feels good to know that one isn't alone in this. ❤️
Yes, PRESSURE is also a friend of mine. Sometimes she is helpfull, but I don't like her most of the time. And yes, she is a very strong opponent! I love to read what makes you happy and I hope it will be a good antidode voor pressure. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words, Hilda, it means a lot! ❤️ I'm glad you like my little texts about what makes me happy, and yes, it has definitely felt good so far to focus on these little positive things in life.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with our 'friend' PRESSURE! I hope you have some good antidotes as well. 😊
Oh, I know her too, and you capture her very well... It's great that you are going your own way (and also great to hear that your husband supports you)! I find the section about unlearning very relatable - I often notice that there is a part of me that *wants* to be stressed, because in some strange, self-destructive way I feel more comfortable and at home with the stress than when I'm relaxed. It's really a learning process that requires a lot of reflection.
Thank you, Hannah! So good to know that I'm not the only one with this strange, self-destructive tendency. (Sad at the same time, of course. What is our brain doing to us and why?!) 🙄 Thank you for sharing!
PRESSURE must be a really busy person, visiting us all. 😆
Pressure feels like it's been amplified in today's technological society. There's a lot of background noise with machines and busyness, which can disconnect us from mindfulness. Well, that's what I tell myself. I'm an anxious person, too. I explain to folks that I have nervous energy, but with age and mindfulness I've been able to take the harder edges off!
Thank you, Lani, for sharing your thoughts! I think, you are right, today's technological society makes it even harder. I'm happy for you that age and mindfulness have a positive effect for you! I agree that mindfulness is the right way to go. Still learning to put it into practice every day. :)
“Life is not a constant game of Tetris”—I love that. It’s about listening to our bodies and hearts and moving at our own rhythm. Hearing you share your journey and how you’ve made space for gentleness instead of more pressure is truly inspiring. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to keep pushing ourselves endlessly, and that slowing down can actually be the most healing thing we can do for ourselves. Thank you for sharing your path toward more peace and self-compassion🫶
Thank you so much, Dana! 💗 I'm so happy that my text resonated with you. I love how you put it and couldn't agree more: "slowing down can actually be the most healing thing we can do for ourselves."
"I’ve realised that being considerate of my needs is not a sign of weakness, but of strength".
Yes to this! It's so hard not to fall back on old habits or patterns, but once you realise peace can be obtained, the work and effort is worth it which over time becomes easier and more intuitive. 😊
take the space you need!
Thank you for your kind comment!

Yes... almost like Santa Claus!
That's right! But I wish she only came once a year too. 😂

Thank you, Hayley, you are absolutely right! 😊
