I love the purple and green together too. Living on a boat means we're restricted in terms of plants, but we've got rosemary and thyme growing in pots on the roof of the boat, plus a large round pot of purple plants 🪴 💜 😀
So much beauty in this post. I love alliums too (and purple flowers in general) and I particularly enjoyed your conversation with E.T. As I write this, I am listening to a robin singing. I had no idea it was a robin until recently when I got the Merlin app but now he sings good morning and good night to me and they are two of my favourite parts of the day. Thank you for sharing all the beauty and wonder in your world; I loved reading about it.
Thank you, Victoria! 💜 Your robin moments sound really precious and beautiful! I also only learnt to recognise a robin a few months ago with the help of the Merlin app. A very useful app, it showed me so much that I couldn't place or didn't even notice before.
I'm sure you're used to conversations with cats. :) I miss them very much - just as I miss cats in my life in general. 🐈 So this was really special. :)
Ahhh, I"m envious. 🌷🌺💐What a wonderful feeling to be in your beautiful garden, to pay attention to nature's little critters, and enjoy the season unfolding. 🐝Life is good, isn't it? Now, if we could remember this once in a while? 😅😉😁
Oooooh, so much beautiful flowers in your garden! I also love the purple and bleu ones 💜 And your no-mow-may lawn, its really amazing! a few years ago I also had parts of my lawn feral, but I now have a robotic mower unfortunately. I have yet to find out if it can also skip certain parts. I found it so interesting and beautiful what emerged then! And how funny is it that I also just made a video of my alliums last week. On mine was a bee. Maybe I'll share it in a Notes soon. Looking forward to your next Notes from your garden. 💜🌸💗
Thank you so much, Hilda! 💗 I had more pictures of other No-Mow-May lawn patches, but I decided to focus on the red sorrel, so striking! ☺️ Ah, the alliums were just great this year, weren’t they? Yes, please, I’m looking forward to your video on Notes. 🤩 We all need beauty and nature and something positive and gentle to brighten our days!
Thank you for this gentle walk through your garden, Claudia. I love the way you notice the small details... the alliums swaying, bees in the purple blooms, and E.T.’s quiet patrol. That heron in the light rain feels like a perfect pause, a breath of calm in the busy rush 🌿 Beautiful poem 💜
Very relaxing read :) I also love purple together with green (and, judging by the comments, we’re clearly not the only ones!). I would never use purple in decorations or clothing, but in nature I find the colour so stunning. I also discovered the beauty of sorrel this year, just like you!
And I'm glad you're slowly building your relationship with the cat. There's something so special about shy animals gradually getting used to you.
Thank you, Hannah, great that you enjoyed it! Funny how we suddenly discover the beauty of something when it has been there all along, isn't it? Lovely that it's sorrel for you too this year. :)
I very much hope so that the cat is gradually getting used to me! I don't do tricks with treats, so it has to be just me and his trust over time. :)
Beautiful alliums! And I agree, lawns look man-made, there's so much more we could do with these green spaces. Even just letting the weeds grow attracts more insects, which is good for us!
Beautiful photos - I have a cat like ET 🐈⬛He comes to my allotment and watches me from a distance. We have an understanding- it is his patch but I am tolerated! They are such joy 🌻💕
Beautiful photos; the alliums have been especially spectacular this year 🌸
Thank you, David! Your alliums as well? So a really special year for these beautiful flowers. 🌸

No matter how small the space is, there is room for plants. I love that! 😀

That's true, and paying attention to the little things and moments helps me with that. Sometimes. More and more often. 😉😄

Exactly! Good for us - and good for them. :)

Aww, that's sweet! Yes, they are such a joy. 🥰 Thanks for reading and sharing your "catventure", Clare! 🐾
