I'm glad you found a new safe and beautiful space in nature. I used to love the sea too, but later on in life I felt "exposed" without trees. There's beauty in all of nature, but it's comforting to have those places where we can relax and feel at home, at peace 💚

Thank you, Julia, for your kind words and for sharing your experience! I agree with you about the beauty in all of nature, and its diversity is breathtakingly wonderful. 💚 It's good to know that there will always be places in nature where we feel at home. 🌳

I like the writing, especially the part about your grandparents' garden - I feel like I'm right there. Great that you've got your own peaceful garden now!

My favourite places would all be in the mountains, I think.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Hannah, I'm really glad you like it!!

What do you like most about being in the mountains? How does it make you feel?

:) I think I like the challenge of the ascent and then being rewarded with great views and being completely away from everyday life! But I also just love rocks...

I loved reading about your grandparents' garden because it reminded so much about how I felt in my own grandfather's garden.

Being near water - be it a river or the sea - is one of my favorite places in nature. It instantly brings me peace. I'm luck to have sea nearby now that I live in Corsica. My very close second favorite place is in the forest, among trees.

Oh, that's lovely! I'm so glad it resonated with you. 🌻 And thank you for sharing your favourite places, Maïlys! Water and trees, yes, they are special places in any form. 🌳 Living on Corsica is also wonderful in that respect, I can imagine. I've never been to Corsica, but heard such much good about it.

If you like nature, it’s heaven on earth 😉 What I especially like is being able to go to the beach and hike in the forest in the same day. It’s often described as a "mountain in the sea". You can see some pictures of the natural landscapes in my article called "Embracing the ebbs and flows".

That was a very touching article. Your photo on the mountain reminded me instantly of the great views I was allowed to experience during my recent road trip through the West of the US. Like for you, this voyage for me was an amazing adventure, almost unbelievable that I actually took it, but I also have proof. 😉

That your little house with the beautiful garden saved you, along with your husband, is good for you. I am glad for you. My own situation, unfortunately, looks a bit different. No place of calmness falls from the sky for me. It seems I have to fight for it, with the biggest enemy being my own fears. Will I ever beat them, or will they beat me? As a male, I am expected to find solutions. I am not allowed to lean against anyone's shoulder. If anything, I am supposed to be the strong guy aka the rock in the surf, to be of any value. No one is around to save me. And the only person who maybe could... she remains unreachable.

What ever I try, seems to make everything worse. Maybe it's better to do nothing for a while. I yet have to determine the consequences of my realizations.

Thank you for your comment and sharing your situation! I'm very sorry about the tough time you are going through. There can be incredibly hard years to endure, I know that, and it may sometimes seem they'll never end. But every day can bring a change! A new insight, new people, a different outlook on life, a new opportunity... I wish you all the best! May the upcoming new year be a kind one!
