Such inspiration Claudia! I struggle reading novels in the summer ( no idea why!) I read lots of non fiction dipping in and out but you have given me inspiration to pick up one of these - thank you 🙏🌻
I'm glad you found some inspiration here, Clare! 😊📚
I've struggled reading novels too lately. Nothing really clicked with me, everything seemed to be boring or like I've read it all before. A very confusing experience! 😄
No problem with non-fiction though. There's so much I want to read, so many interesting books out there. I think, I've just started a new phase in my reading life. 😇
I find I read more fiction in the winter, especially atmospheric, historical, or ghostly fiction - I am sure the Summer depletes my concentration. Yes me too - such a long list of nature/seasonal books to read! 😊
Well, luckily, winter will come and with it the right mood for the kind of fiction you mentioned. ❄️☺️ It's so interesting with reading seasonally. Until a year ago I hadn't even heard of or thought of people doing this, for myself I would have thought it a bit constricting. But now, after reconnecting with nature and the seasons more, I certainly see the appeal it has and how it not only enhances living seasonally, but almost come naturally with it.
I must be living under a rock, I've never heard of any of these. Momentarily I'm stuck on reading non-fiction, it just feels more "real" in a world that's already so made-up. Thanks for the reading list!
There are soooo many books out there, we will never know or heard of them all. ☺️ That's what I love about swapping book recommendations, there's a chance to discover a title or two I might like and I would maybe never have come across otherwise. 📚📚📚
Good point about the reason for sticking to non-fiction at the moment, Cheryl! Could be very similar for me now I think about it. I also prefer to find solace and hope in these difficult times in the real world, often in nature, instead of escaping to fantasy or other made-up stories and worlds. It feels more real, more grounded and simply good and important to realise that, despite everything, there is so much that is positive, beautiful and interesting in this world.
I've not read any of Colleen Cambridge's books but I love Agatha Christie (perfect books for a rainy weekend) so I'll give Colleen a try! The snail book was already on my list when you recommended it to me last week and looking forward to reading that as well 😊
