Thank you, Hayley, so glad my post inspired you to give it a go, too! I did a few more pages in the meantime and I really enjoy getting creative with what materials and snippets I have. π
That was a nice surprise to read a German sentence in the comments. π (And yes, it's correct.) So great to learn another language! I enjoyed studying languages at school - English (obviously π), French, Italian (and a little bit of Russian). But apart from English, I've forgotten much of it. So sad, really. Why did you choose German, if you don't mind me asking?
Ah, Danke! Not sure why really, it's a light relief from learning Chinese π€£ much easier haha. Although Duolingo made me laugh as it is just teaching me how to complain?! π
Ooooo. Junk journaling (besides its alliteration) is not a good name for something so pretty! I love your collages ~ the idea of repurposing found materials from around the house + being creative and tactile. π€ You should share them on Notes.
Also, I wanted to tell you that I watched Netflix's Thurs Murder Club last night and it was great! The first novel has been far enough from my memory that it was fun to "recall" events and see how they handled it. Overall, pleased with the cast too. Happy New Year, Claudia! π₯³
Thank you, Lani. You are definitive right about the naming, something prettier would be appropriate, but I guess the alliteration was precisely the reason for the name. So catchy! π
Ha, what a lovely coincidence because I've been meaning to tell you that I watched Thursday Murder Club over Christmas! I really liked it, it was so much fun and the cast was great! Although I wondered about some events and how they enfolded, I missed others, but sure not every twist and turn of the book could make it into the film. After all, much, much better than I had feared after watching the film trailer. π
Thank you for reading, Karen! What I especially enjoy is that it's not the endless rambling on many, many journal pages like I used to do in the past, but focussing on an essence and find a way to create it visually on a page. Feels different and I love it! β¨π
I absolutely love this, Claudia! I occasionally make collages, too, as a form of journalling. Reading this post feels like such a synchronicity because I've shared some of my collages in my latest post. Perhaps a sign to do it more regularly?
Writing things down is great and all, but sometimes you really need that playfulnessβthe colours, the images, the visuals. Sometimes images can express feelings better. And it's such a great way to get out of your head.
Thank you, Alex! Exactly, that's it, that's exactly what I meant. So nice to see that there's someone who understands. π Synchronicity indeed! Wishing you a lovely, hopeful, gentle start to the new year!
Absolutely LOVED THIS, Claudia! Iβm so excited to start junk journaling in β26, with more opportunities to be creative offline. My favorite moments in school were when the teacher would assign projects to create at home (think King Tutβs tomb). My mom and I would go to the craft shop and spend the weekend having fun and creating! Thanks so much for sharing! xx
Thank you so much, Traci! I'm so glad it resonated with you. π Wow, King Tut's tomb? Sounds like you have quite some experience with crafting and creating. That's so lovely, thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to exploring more opportunities to be creative offline too in 2026. Enjoy your creative projects and have fun!
I love this! It looks relaxing and so much fun. As a recovering perfectionist, this seems ideal for me. I will give it a try. And I am thinking about getting a metal pinboard myself, you have sparked some ideas...
I think what you create is art! It doesn't have to fit a certain aesthetic or meet some kind of goal, it served the purpose of allowing you to express emotions and that's what matters, at least to me. I love junk journaling by the way and very cool to discover that you like it too!!
Thank you very much, Sophie! Youβre right, of course. I think, itβs just that Iβve never been good at drawing, painting β¦ and would never ever consider calling what I do art. Maybe the word intimidates me. Or I donβt want to mislead others to think itβs art, they may have (higher) expectations that my little junk journal pages wonβt meet. It was a challenge in itself to share them here. But Iβm glad I did because maybe they encourage others to try as well. :)
I think this is very nice, pretty and I get inspired to do something simular. Junk Journaling is a new expression/ word for me. Thank you for sharing Claudia, you are really creativeππ½ππΏπ
Thank you very much, Tony! βΊοΈ I learned about it in the spring, I guess, so not that long ago either. But it immediately appealed to me. Give it a try, itβs really a nice way to be creative. π
Oh, sehr schΓΆn!
Hopefully that is written correctly, I'm learning some German on Duolingo.
I love that you're not buying in supplies which for me defeated the point of it all. You've inspired me to give it a go, thanks π

Not sure if that's the first thing you need to know in German. π€£
Oh, I bet compared to Chinese it's definitely easier. π Well, have fun with it. π

What a great idea and I love that this process just evolves depending on how you're feeling. Such a lovely creative outlet in every way π³π·π«

What a lovely mood board and junk journal pages! This looks like a fun activity to dive into. It would suit me as well.
Thank you, Laura! Have fun with it if you give it a go. π

I'm so glad that you found my post inspiring, Christine. Thanks for reading, and have fun giving it a try yourself! π
Looks like so much fun to create.
Iβm a tea & hot cocoa drinker too!
Itβs really fun! Maybe give it a try, if you havenβt already. βΊοΈ
Ha, thatβs lovely! Iβm usually very much in the minority as a non-coffee drinker. Sending a hot cocoa your way. π β

Iβve seen your zines, wow, very impressive!
I'm glad you shared it too, I love looking at others journals and always feel inspired π
