Thank you for sharing your book tips Claudia πΏπ²ππ½ππΌ I got inspired to read several of them. The Norwegian TorbjΓΈrn Ekelund seem to be very for meππ² Great post Claudia ππΏ
Glad you liked it, Clare! There might be a lot of inspiration for you there. Especially "Is a River Alive?" was just so moving and inspiring. Maybe you'll give it a try. βΊοΈπΏ
Thank you for sharing al these beautiful nature book Claudia! I can imagine you want to go for a long hiking adventure after reading the last book you read. I can imagine I woud dream about that too, although Iβm not that good with rain and coldβ¦ But reading from home, in the warmth of my own room must be possible π Looking forward to your next writings π
That's why I love 'reading adventures' so much. Always a pleasant temperature (I'm not good with sun and heat, everything over 22 degrees doesn't agree with me π ), a comfy sofa, no travel stress, just a good book and a vivid imagination needed. π But sometimes books awaken in me a longing to experience something for myself, especially certain landscapes. ποΈβΊοΈ
I'm so pleased you read it and enjoyed it. It's fascinating isn't it. We see lots of hares in the fields near the boat, particularly now the crops have been cut and the field are being prepared for next season π
It takes a certain skill to present books in a way that makes others enthusiastic about them before they have even picked them up and you've succeeded! Will be getting A Year In the Woods and The Glitter In the Green. Also very happy that you reminded me of what an adventure reading can be. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Katarina, I'm so glad you feel this way! βΊοΈ Enjoy your reading adventures! I'd love to know how you like the books. If you feel like it, maybe you'd send me a quick message once you've read them? I love chatting about books. π
Claudia, out of all the books you mentioned, the one that interests me the most is the fascinating one about earthworms! I had so many questions as a child that no one (or book I could find in the school library) had answers for my many thoughts about things that crawl in the soil. About the creatures we rarely see, who change/modify/create the nutrients in the very substrate that allows us to survive, and hopefully grow a bounty of nutritious food and encourage the trees to thrive. Thank you!
Cheryl, I'm so glad you found something interesting and useful among my book recommendations. The book about earthworms really took me by surprise, how much there is to know about them! So interesting, a whole new world opened up!
So many people seem to take the soil and the nutrients for granted, rarely thinking about how our survival depends on it. I feel it is extremely important to keep reminding ourselves of this.

Hi Claudia, have you read Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton? It's a beautiful book and I recommend it π
I've finished Raising Hare a few days ago, and I absolutely loved it!!! Such a beautiful book! And now, rightly so, the winner of the 2025 Wainwright Prize. Thanks again for the recommendation! π€©

I've heard of it, but haven't read it yet. π° Thanks for the recommendation, Karen! π

I would love to do that! βIn Praise of Paths - Walking Through Time and Natureβ by TorbjΓΆrn Ekelund also seemed interesting.
I agree about 'In Praise of Paths', it's already on my list too. π
