Thank you for sharing your reflections/thoughts Claudia and I am so agree with you when it comes to friends in life. You only need a few right ones. When it comes to digital detox you have made a good and 100% choice with your limit. I have that on my plan for 2026 as well. Using time on social media really drains me. So I will follow your wayππΎπ Like you I really love books. I have been to the library and have 1 crime book with Jo NesbΓΈ and two Nature related ones. Good for us to slow down and read . I wish you and family a Merry Christmas . Frohe Weinatchten Claudia π π»πβοΈ
Thank you for reading, Tony! I'm so glad that so much of this post resonated with you. βΊοΈπ Of course, I'm curious about the nature related books now ... π I wish you, your son and Oliver a Merry Christmas, too! πEnjoy your time in Norway with your family. Maybe you'll have better luck with snow than we do here. βοΈπ₯°
I love how you've been taking pictures as the sun rises! We've had so much fog lately, I get super excited to see the sun at all. Like your husband, I also get a little anxious about having enough food (we always do!) for the holidays, because I am still getting used to the stores being closed for two days at Christmas, and two more days in the new year. My husband, on the other hand has a stack of at least 30 books in want of reading that he has collected in the past couple of years, which leaves me with plenty of quiet time for knitting.
What is it about these days that disrupt our routines and make us a little nervous? Even though we know that everything will be fine. π Wow, 30 books is quite a stack! I wish you and your family a lovely and merry Christmas, with lots of quiet time for reading and knitting, plenty of food and that the sun will come out again bright and shiny soon! (It's only so much fog one can handle.)
Oh curious about atmosphere, that one is on my reading list too.
Hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday period with lots of quiet time to get through all those books, and then, wishing you a quiet 2026 in which you will have even more time to get through even more books
Thank you very much, Sophie! Wishing you wonderful, relaxed holidays as well. β¨
I've heard a lot about Atmosphere, so let's see what the praise is all about and how we like it, right? By the way, what are you currently reading? Anything you'd recommend? ππ
I'm reading a book by a local NZ writer, Catherine Chidgey, "Pet". It's really good. She's a very good writer. But I doubt it's available overseas. I also read The Axeman's carnival by her which was also really good.
Oh, I remember The Axeman's Carnival, you mentioned it before and it's somewhere on my long reading list. π Just looked up Pet (it actually is available in Europe as paperback), but I don't think my nervous system is up for a psychological thriller right now. π Thanks for sharing, Sophie!
Hi Claudia, great food, nature and interesting books are the stuff of life for me too. I've just read Albion by Anna Hope which I enjoyed, but maybe a 7/10 as the characters weren't very appealing. I'm rereading Anchored by Deb Dana and finding so much more in it as I progress along my journey. I thought today that my nervous system is operating on an old programme, one that was installed when I was a child and it needs updating now I'm a grown woman who's able to advocate for herself. That visual picture helps me to lessen self blame and self criticism and give myself compassion and grace going forward. Wishing you a peaceful and contented Christmas and a happy, healthy 2026 too ππ
Thank you, Karen, wishing the same to you! πβ¨ I also find visual pictures helpful as an anchor. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Wishing you a smooth next stretch on your journey, a path that feels lighter. π Always interesting to hear what you're reading. How's the audiobook via Spotify working for you?
Thank you Claudia π π yes, a lighter and a hopeful path is very welcome. To be honest, I haven't started listening to an audiobook yet as life has been a little disrupted recently, but I'm on it now!
We already spoke about Hidden Figures. I know youβll love it as much as I do. Some wonderful books you have readied, along with your beautiful perspective on taking it slow. Youβre right, just a few of the right people make the difference in enjoying slow joyful moments. Thank you for sharing this lovely post Claudia.
Thank you so much, Alegria! I'm glad it resonated with you. π Yes, really looking forward to Hidden Figures. I've seen the film years ago, it made quite an impression on me, and I'm glad to finally read the book. Wishing you a lovely, soulful holiday period! β¨
These are december delights indeed! I also love the beautiful skies in the morning and in the evening. Wishing you some lovely quiet and restful days to the end of the year with a lot of beautiful books to read. I see a lot of positive feedback on Atmosphere. πβοΈπ―οΈ

Thank you for reading, David!

In addition to the sunrises, I love the last light at this time of year.
Enjoy your reading!
Oh yes, the last light at this time of year is so beautiful, too!
Thank you, Sara! βΊοΈ

There are much more important things than audiobooks, Karen, I was just wondering. π
To a lighter and hopeful path next year! β¨π
