Hi there, I've stumbled upon your blog today and feel like I've found a kindred spirit- a fellow nature loving hsp! This was a joy to read and full of helpful but gentle reminders to slow down. In particular, I really related to this quote, "I used to shy away from behaving so weird (a little relapse of social anxiety I once suffered from flaring up again), but now I don’t really care." having experienced similar myself. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Gina, thank you, that’s so lovely to hear. I love meeting like-minded people and kindred spirits. (Substack is a great place for this, I noticed.) When I took a look at your blog and your note and saw your topics, I felt very much the same. So glad you said ‘Hi’! 🥰 Being an HSP isn't always easy in this fast, noisy, modern, extrovert's world, is it? Take care, looking forward to reading from you again. 🌿📚🪶🍂✨️
Yes, I'm really happy that Substack seems to be such a positive place where people are interested to interact and form communities- sadly I feel like that's not as common these days. Ah thank you, that's wonderful to hear and I'm so pleased I said hello. Looking forward to your future posts too! <3
Beautifully written Claudia 💕You are my inspiration with slow and gentle living. I love the hedgehog in your garden getting ready for hibernation and you yourself thinking the same thing. Thank you for such a lifting heartfelt post. Enjoy Autumn 🍂
Thank you for a beautiful read Claudia💟🥰 I love hegdehogs, they are so cute. It’s good to hear you take slow steps into autumn, in your own pace❣️🙏 That is the only way. Hibernation makes sense, I do too💚🌿
Thank you for reading, Tony, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 💛 Wishing you a calm and beautiful autumn - and a restful hibernation! 🍂🦔❄️ It feels good to return to the simplicity of the natural cycle of the year and to try to live accordingly. We are part of nature after all. It feels like coming home. 🌿
Aw, Claudia — I loved reading this! 💛 The hedgehogs rustling, the last sunflower holding on, the quiet satisfaction of moving soil and tending to what matters 🍁 I too feel like I'm "that" neighbour lol, the one in the garden with my pjs on. Much like you, I’m okay with it these days!
Enjoyed your post so much today. Lovely to think of you tending to your fall garden and taking in the beautiful sunrises, much as I do here on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state on the west coast of the US. I often read that we have similar climates for gardening. Or, did have. In recent years our summers have been very hot and dry. I am trying to go with the flow, and my aging, and plan fewer flower beds that will require less worry about watering everything. This is not me! But even I can see, I must change with the times. So many people here on Substack share what they love about nature, I am heartened to see this!! Stay with your plan and let the energy return in it's own time. Play Hedgehog if you will! :-)
Thank you, Sandy, so glad you enjoyed it. 😊 You really live in a beautiful part of the world! Yes, from what I gathered we do have similar climates (or should have). We see the change here too. However, the specific region where I live, just north of Hamburg, has been mostly lucky and has rarely been affected by heat and drought in recent years. The location between the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the wide Elbe River seems to offer protection from extremes, we feel. For now ...
I also love to read from others around the world about their love of nature, the many facets, and I feel so connected with you all. I'm so grateful to have found you all here. 🌿💚
Wishing you a beautiful fall and many more stunning sunrises!
Such a beautiful read Claudia and I loved reading about the hedgehogs. A friend of mine who died quite young a few years ago also used to take care of hedgehogs that were unwell and your writing made me think of her. Her name was Sue and she was the loveliest person. Good to hear you're taking care of yourself. I liken this journey to going round and round in circles meeting the same challenges over and over again. It's how we meet ourselves each time that counts I think and maybe it's an opportunity to meet ourselves with love and compassion that will build trust over time. Wishing you a peaceful and contented weekend ✨️
Thank you, Karen! 💛 I have the greatest respect for people who take care of wildlife in such a personal way. 🦔
Yes, when I think about my experiences, I'd say you are right about this journey going round in circles meeting the same challenges over and over again. Not always easy to accept when the only thing you wish for is to go forward and finally overcome things. But the realisation of how this works is helpful nontheless because I feel less bad and flawed then. It's a process and I get the opportunity to react differently and meet myself differently. Relearning takes time.
Oh wow, that hedgehog in your garden! 😍 No idea if there's any in my garden. I saw one for the first time 2 months ago. My garden is big enough and they are so welcome 😊
Good idea to rest, recover and hibernate. I'm not that good at it, but I'll try my best. And maybe I do and don't realise I do... Enjoy your cozy and restful autumn! 🍂🌰🧡
It never fails to amaze me what we can discover in a garden, even if it's a small one like ours. So there's every chance there are hedgehogs in yours. 🦔😊 Maybe they even have a secret "Hedgequarter". 😉
Thank you, Hilda, wishing you a cosy and restful autumn, too! 🍂🍁🧡
Beautiful photos! Love the sunrise and sunflower. 🥰
Thank you, Hayley! 🥰

Glad to hear I'm not the only weirdo doing gardening in her pyjamas 😁
😁😅
I absolutely obsessed over your hedgehog stories!! OMG a whole family of them peeking out from under the hedge!
This post had such a soothing vibe to it.
Thank you, Roos, I'm happy you enjoyed it so much! 🦔🌿
